Bridging

Nature City Camp bridges access and opportunity for children of diversity to immerse in outdoor adventure and healing nature space, supported by culturally compassionate community, providing safe adventure activities, to feel secure in trying new things in a compassionate place to be seen.

Adventure

This all-access adventure week highlights the best of nature spaces the E. Bay from land to sea! We greet each activity day progressing through proper warm up/stretches, safety and skills development, experience, practice and participating peaking to joy. Each day fosters independence, autonomy and executive functioning skills while building confidence in community.

Elevating

This unique camp is unapologetically created to acknowledge, elevate, and appreciate the Afro-Diaspora, Hispanic, Indigenous, Pacific Islander, Asian, Desi, Blended race population and children of the Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Genderfluid, Bisexual communities through nature, adventure, recreation, art, and play. This is an all-access week opportunity to celebrate the rich diversities of being just who we are in community together. Promoting teachable moments through collaboration and sovereign joy, Nature City Camp is truly a space to let go and play.

  • Welcome to camp! TayloredFit Solutions, LLC welcomes you to another exciting summer of reaching new heights! We are so thrilled you will be adventuring, climbing and discovering the best of the Bay with us this summer! We are excitingly incorporating excursions in the most unique places in the Bay Area! Nature City Camp is an all access adventure experience, uniquely sharing and blending the special bond of summer camp, mindfulness of self in nature, and empowerment. In the season of connecting with each other, participants learn to work together as a collective group making decisions and finding agency in land and water outdoor disciplines. Campers experience outdoor wilderness skills, nature art, play teambuilding games and fun excursions. Each themed day progressively flows with stimulating activities incorporating climbing and movement and expanding our connection to the earth and to one another.

    Nature City Camp June 30-July 3 goes beyond the labels to bridge an experiential all-sensory adventure approach to outdoor nature-based activities centering children color and LGBTQAI+2 families. This exciting week of includes hiking, outdoor rock climbing, kayaking and standup paddle boarding. Each day brings exciting new shared experiences and discoveries for campers and our adventure community.

    Our joyful camp days provide the opportunity for sovereign exploration in multiple disciplines, experience nature in an organically safe environment, meet new friends, and create long-lasting memories. We’re looking forward to starting the adventure with you, watching you grow strong and more confident throughout the week together.

    Expectations

    Nature City Camp is an all access adventure experience, uniquely sharing and blending the special bond of summer camp, mindfulness of self in nature, and empowerment. In the magical week of connecting with each other, participants learn to work together as a collective group making decisions and finding agency in rock and land outdoor disciplines. Campers experience outdoor wilderness skills, nature art, play teambuilding games and fun excursions. Each themed day progressively flows with stimulating activities incorporating climbing and movement and expanding our connection to the earth and to one another.

    Challenge By Choice

    We utilize many tools for active engagement and celebrate all milestones of movement and participation as we prescribe to a self-reliant, free agency model of challenge-by-choice with consent. We encourage agency and radically model voice to consent to support individuality, emotional, physical, mental safety and autonomy. Participants are empowered to decide whether to participate in any activity. All participants and instructors are expected to respect anyone's right to sit out or to opt for a personalized level of engagement.

  • We actively practice non-violent communication, behavior and action in our programs. Horseplay, hitting, pushing, shoving, choking and tripping, teasing, bullying will not be tolerated. Sexual inappropriate language, bodily touch without consent, and sexual acting out is not permitted is not permitted in this setting. All participants are required to maintain physical and respect boundaries regarding body autonomy. Participants are invited to ask for safe touch if needed. TayloredFit Solutions practices restorative justice processing techniques for issues that may arise from boundary breaking interactions of this kind. We always communicate with all parents and participants to make sure reflection and restoration continues until the next meeting. If an issue cannot be resolved, TayloredFit Solutions, LLC reserves the right to create an alternative solution for any party involved in physical/violent or bully behavior. This may include termination from class w/o refund.

    Our community is sensitive to emotional, cultural, racial, social, financial, religious, political, sexual and gender identity, ableism, neurodiversity, educational, bully and shaming behavior. Bullying and shaming will not be tolerated, and we encourage children to tell, making it clear that we take action when we know. We practice inclusion and diversity in purpose, mission, vision, language, action and teaching. We actively learning and to teach tolerance and acceptance through dismantling and deconstructions the systems that able white supremacy in the climbing culture.

    Day Pack - (double shoulder day pack)

    • Moon cycle xtras

    • Climbing gear/shoes (if camper has them)

    • 1 Gallon size ziplock

    • 1 light yoga mat (if have one)

    What to wear >

    Land Prep -

    Light jacket, capris/loose fitting long shorts, socks, proper hiking shoes/sneakers.

    Water Prep -

    A bathing suit. Arrive to camp wearing bathing suit UNDER clothes. If you don’t have a bathing suit, anything form fitting clothes don’t mind getting wet will work fine. Shorts and a tank top or sports bra will do.

    Note > PDFs are available for swimmers needing support and confidence. Required for kayaking and SUP.

    Schedule

    Monday-Thursday - hiking shoes/sneakers long shorts, cargo pants. Bring light jacket for morning chill. Wear clothes that can get dirty and/or art stained.

    Recommendations -

    It is tick season! Highly recommend wearing longer socks and shorts.

    Jeans are not recommended for camp.

    Crocs, loose fitting, designer shoes are not recommended for camp. Sneakers or hiking boots are best with rattlesnake and ticks as primary challenges in nature based camps.

    DO NOT BRING

    NOTE: COACH IS AIRBORNE ANAPHYLACTIC. DO NOT BRING 🥜 NUTS OR PEANUT BUTTER EVER.

    • In respect of our footprint outdoors, please do not bring radios, speakers, or electronic games.

    • Do not bring toys, unless they are sensory need objects.

    • Do not wear any of the following: perfumes or heavy chemicals, incense. Aerosol bug spray or sunscreen. Tube or liquid form is fine.

    • Slime, putty, wax, or crayons.

    • Do not bring marijuana, drugs or alcohol.

    • Fire crackers, sparklers, lighters.

    • This is a cellphone free environment. Do not bring cellphones to camp. Personal phones must be turned in at the beginning of camp and stay turned off. Climbers can turn on phones the last 10 mins for text alerts for pickup.
